Destiny's Child Reunion

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Destiny's Child to reunite and record one final album because Beyonce feels bad for leaving her two friends behind while she became a mega-superstar. Just kidding, they're still under contract to their record label.

StarPulse says the R&B superstars Destiny's Child are set to reunite to record one final album.
The multiple Grammy-winning group - comprising of Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams - left fans heartbroken when they split in 2005.
Knowles has since carved out a highly successful career as a solo artist and actress, while Rowland and Williams have also released their own material.
But the Independent Women hitmakers are set to head back into the studio to complete one last record out of duty to their music label, according to internet reports.
A source says, "They still have another album they owe their label, Columbia Records, on their contract."
Destiny's Child's last album of new material, Destiny Fulfilled, was released in 2004 and their greatest hits disc, #1s, hit stores in 2005 before the group disbanded.

They should make a song about strong women, that provide for themselves.. Yeah, that'll be a hit!!

My Qualifications/Upcoming Artists

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Well, since this is a music blog and i am an expert, i should explain my credentials. Afterall if i want my opinion to be valued I should have some credibility and expertise in my field.

First off, Welcome to my blog, and thank you for visiting. I'd like to state that i have been a lover of music all my life. Before i could speak I would hum songs from the radio. My mother told me storys of how I would analyze a songs lyrics and explain my interpretations to her then make suggetions of how they could be better; all this before my 4th birthday. My uncle was a Motown singer. He had a few hits locally, his brother; my other uncle was an underground rapper. My cousin is a Gospel singer, my aunt was in a nationally acclaimed varsity chorus in High School and I have quite a few friends in the music industry who value my opinions.

Now that that is out of the way; artists i feel are on the rise.

First up on this list is a gentleman i have known for many years. He has earned my respect as an artist for his fresh approach to rap music. His style is unique and his flow is smooth as butter. Young Scolla of USR/BSE, his own record label, can be heard on the radio, in clubs, and on quite a few ipods. He is a rapper originally from Memphis but claims the Detroit Hip-Hop uprising. And i will not be the only one to say, We are glad to have you Sir Scolla.
Next up, some really nice guys from Inkster, MI. Singing sensations, The Twins, recieved national attention for making it to "Hell Week" on American Idol Season 5. With the release of an upcoming album they should more than surpass their efforts to stardom. Delay is a soultry R&B voice with introverted delivery in his lyrics the other half of the duo, J-Rock is a smooth pop crooner, that loves to dance and keep you entertained. This combination only spells out one thing for the ladies Sexy and Cool.

And what kida promoter would i be if I didnt ring my own bell. The Civil Lycist,CEO Label Liason Yung Savage and SENT Records presents D Dibbs™. Dibbs has been filling books and books with ideas and songs for about a year and its time for him to shine. His album is scheduled to release in 2010 and he'd like to keep all the tracks a surprise but one has already been leaked onto Myspace. Teaming with fellow SENT artist Collin Collab, "She Eyin Me" was posted to the site. Check out all of my reccommendations I know you'll love 'em.

COMEBACK!!!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

After many years in hibernation the dragon and his crew are releasing a new album. Dru Hill is back on the music scene to reclaim their throne on top of the male R&B group charts. They have their plate full attempting a comeback with Sisqo, Nokio, Jazz and a new group member, Tao (Tay-oh), and the competition of Bad Boy's Day 26, which in my opinion is the best male r&b circuit since Boyz II Men, the album will be tough to sell in today's market. The CD entitled InDrupendence Day (that was really clever) will hit stores sometime next year but the group's official myspace page fails to mention a date. It does, however, promote Sisqo's new solo album (also release date-less) The Last Dragon. Claiming it will be his final installment to the Dragon Trilogy and Dru Hill's first single off the new album, If You Fall. I'm not saying this CD is the saviour of R&B but the new album should give it that "umph" it has lacked in recent years and will definitely get people interested in real music again. I already called Dibbs on the first copy, get your own!!

The Concept

Friday, December 26, 2008

"What's the concept??"

"ONE BAND, ONE SOUND!!"

We all know the concept and we all know that the concept has nothing to do with what i'm talking about.

My name is Darryl Dibbs a hip hop artist on SENT Records. Currently i am working on a few group projects as 1/3 of the rap trio iDCK; as well as my own solo venture in singing. I want to make an album to prove to the world that people can sound great without Autotune. Not saying that Kanye, Weezy, and T-pain aren't doing well, just that it would be nice to turn on the radio and hear something natural and aesthetically pleasing for a change.

Many of you know me as Yung Savage. I dumped the name because i am re-inventing myself, my image, i was not proud of the "savagelife" i was living and i am different person now. Born of my mother named Music. Call me Dibbs™ for short. In the street I still answer to Savage but anything music based the name of the game is D Dibbs™.
